Consisting of more than 700 islands is the Bahamas, a popular destination for people all around the world.

For the holidays last year, my entire family visited a small island in the Bahamas, and we had one of the most authentic traveling experiences I’ve ever had.

Below are ten free and must-see attractions to check out during your visit to the beautiful country of Bahamas.

1. Dean’s Blue Hole (Long Island)

Dean’s Blue Hole is the spot for the adventurer. This 663 feet deep blue hole is the deepest blue hole in the world!

If you’re not a fan of blue holes but have family who wants to go, there is a beach nearby.

2. Thunderball Grotto

The Thunderball Grotto is an underwater cave system perfect for the entire family. Here you can snorkel, dive, wade, or sit by and watch the exotic marine life.

Here you’ll find diverse marine life, so make sure to bring your underwater camera and snorkeling gear.

3. Versailles Gardens

The Versailles Gardens is situated on Paradise Island and overlooks Nassau Harbor.

sometimes to have some aggressive waves is the perfect spot to visit if you’re looking to get away from the beach and visit historic gardens instead.

This is also a great spot to watch the sunset.

The garden is usually not busy at all, which makes it a great Instagram photo spot if you’re into that sort of thing!

4. Parliament Square

Parliament Square is an excellent spot for tourists to go to see the architecture of old Nassau.

There are so many things I love about the Bahamas and other Carribean countries, but what I love most are the vibrant colors on all of the houses.

You’ll see tons of pink and other light-colored houses on pretty much any inhabited island you visit in the Bahamas.

5. Queen’s Staircase

The Queen’s Staircase is a major landmark in Nassau.

Also known as 66 steps, the staircase was known as providing a direct route from Fort Fincastle to Nassau.

6. Paradise Beach

Though there are many beaches in the Bahamas, Paradise Beach is a favorite for many.

This is an excellent spot for snorkeling but is known to sometimes have some aggressive waves so be on the lookout for that.

7. Primeval Forest National Park

The Primeval Forest National Park is an old-worth woodland with evergreen tropical hardwood forests.

The area features many dramatic sinkholes and limestone caverns, as well as a diverse community of plants and animals. A must-see in the Bahamas!

8. Lighthouse beach (Eleuthera)

If you’re looking for an island away from Nassau, Eleuthera is the island to choose.

My family and I had Lighthouse Beach to ourselves. We saw stingrays and other underwater wildlife here. There’s even pink sand here!

9. Glass Window (Eleuthera)

The Glass Window Bridge is one of the coolest spots to visit on the island.

On one side of the road, you’ll see the Atlantic Ocean, and the other side you’ll see the Caribbean Sea.

There’s also a blowhole here.

When looking at the photo down below, the blowhole is near the light blue clear water right by the side of the road.

10. Spider Cave (Eleuthera)

We stumbled upon Spider Cave after a local we picked up told us to take a stop here.

The cave is seriously unlike anything I’ve ever seen before.

P.S. Hitchhiking is a big thing on the island of Eleuthera, so you’ll often see locals getting rides from strangers. The entire island is made up of one major road, which makes sense as to why hitchhiking is so common.
