  • For those of you that don’t know, I used to be overweight. I smoked cigarettes and drank a ton of alcohol. I was a biiiiig mess and felt sick on a regular basis. I was a totally different person than I am today. A huge part of that change is due to working out and healthy eating. I started taking care of myself and over the past 5 years have seen change that I didn’t even think would EVER be possible. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Healthy eating and exercising doesn’t have to be expensive. Here’s exactly how I eat healthy and exercise on a budget.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ 1. I went from a CrossFit membership to a $25 membership at a local gym. 24/7 access and free classes. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣ 2. I use @aaptiv (which is seriously my FAVORITE app ever. I workout 4-5 per week because this app gets me so excited to workout. Aaptiv uses a virtual personal trainer that tells you exactly what to do. This includes cardio, strength training, pilates, yoga, stretching, meditation, etc. I got a 1-year membership for $50. ⁣⁣⁣(pic 3) ⁣ 3. I do my best to use a meal planner and stick to a grocery list. Without it, I’m all over the place and don’t have a plan. I have a free money-saving meal plan template you can use in my free resource library! (Link in bio).⁣⁣⁣ (pic 4) ⁣ 4. I use Walmart Grocery Pickup to save money on groceries. The employees always pick the freshest fruits and veggies so I don’t pick anything that isn’t ripe or already spoiled. I’m also not tempted to shop in the store since I’m only picking up groceries. I don’t even get out of my car. I also love Ibotta because they have fruits and veggies cash back sometimes, and other things I buy regularly like coffee, toilet paper, and vegan meats.⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ I love love love working out and eating healthy. I’m always trying new recipes from vegan food bloggers and every year my boyfriend’s mom gifts me a vegan cookbook which I use as well. I also recently got the book @plantbasedonabudget — so worth it!!⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ What do you do to stay healthy and workout on a budget?⁣
  • There are so many changes coming in just a few months - it’s really weird to think about. My boyfriend is in the beginning stages of applying to jobs (he graduates with a degree in computer science in May). ⁣ ⁣ We have our eyes on Vegas as his entire family lives there (and we love Vegas), but we’re also open to anywhere. We’ve also invited my mom to live with us as I want to start taking care of her (and I miss spending time with her).⁣ ⁣ He’s got a lot of debt to pay off. If he lets me share numbers, I definitely will and update his progress as we go. He lives on so little that it makes me wonder how fast he’ll be able to do it! ⁣ ⁣ In other news, my October goals went great! I worked out 4-5 per week and I spent less than $400 on food/drinks (including restaurants and social outings). I spent $300 on fun money which included a TON of yarn (and an antique yarn caddy I bought at an antique store) as I started crocheting. ⁣ ⁣ My goal for November is to spend less than $250 on groceries and restaurant outings. I got cash for my cash envelopes yesterday and I’m cooking batch meals to make meals go longer + save money. If you have a favorite (plant-based) batch meal, please share it with me as I’m trying to come up with more recipes. ⁣ ⁣ Happy November. 🍁🍂☃️
  • #ad Have you ever heard of a low-cost cell phone plan and thought it was too good to be true? Yep, same. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ After hearing about low-cost carriers for years, I decided to try it out for myself. I tested out @tellomobile in October and compared the service side by side to my T-Mobile plan. I was concerned the service wasn’t going to be good because I live in a small town. The phone worked everywhere I went. I had spotty service at my gym (one bar), which is exactly what my T-Mobile phone gets. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ My Tello Mobile plan is $19 a month with unlimited texting and calling, and 4GB of internet. I don’t need much internet because I use wifi everywhere. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I factored in how much the average person could save by switching to a low-cost carrier. Let’s say someone pays $80/month on their plan for 1 year. That’s $960. If they switched to a low-cost plan like mine at Tello Mobile for $19, that’s only $228 for 1 year.   • Are you saving money in a retirement account? How much do you save? I didn’t save start saving for retirement until I was 26. This doesn’t bother me though because now I’m maxing out my accounts and doing great. Plus, I can’t rewind time. I have a Small Business 401k and Roth IRA with Vanguard. 🙌🏼 (P.S. this is a Canva template so no one thinks I copy other peoples Instagram graphics 😂). My favorite retirement/investing books are in an earlier IG post! Just look for “favorite personal finance books”.

  • I only discovered how much my library offers a few months ago! I noticed a backpack with some binoculars and maps in it and the librarian told me it was a backpack for the national park pass rental. 😯🏕 ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ My local library also offers a ton of skills classes like art, knitting, coding, and so many other things. I think that’s so cool! ⁣ ⁣ What cool things does your library offer?

  • I had no idea what personal development was until I was 21. I picked up a book at the airport before boarding my flight to Vegas. It was called You Are A Badass. Ever since then, I've been a personal development fanatic. For a while I'd do a lot of passive learning, meaning I never implemented what I learned. Only recently did I realize you have to actually implement what you learn in order to get the results. Who would've known?! (sarcasm). These are some of my all-time favorite books in no order. A book that really surprised me (that I honestly didn't think I'd like) is Awaken The Giant Within. It's THICK and takes a long time to read but it is so so worth it. I plan on reading it again. Another book (or two) that surprised me is Girl, Wash Your Face & Girl, Stop Apologizing by @msrachelhollis . They're both great reads, especially for women. Have you read any of these books?
