Learn how to make $1000 a week with this list of side hustles.
Included in this post are always ways to get started with each side hustle and get started making extra money right away.
#1 Rent out a parking spot for an RV
With Vanly you can rent out a parking spot for RV’ers and van lifers who need a spot to stay.
Vanly is a platform that connects travelers with parking spots around the world. It’s sort of like the Airbnb for camper vans.
If you have a driveway that fits an RV or van, consider renting out the area. Besides driveways, you can also rent out other parts of land on your property. Giving out water and wifi to the renters will get you even more cash.
This is a great side gig that makes you money for doing nothing. All you’re doing is sharing your unused space.
#2 Flip for profit
If you enjoy going to garage sales, thrift stores or flea markets, flipping items for profit is the side gig for you.
Flipping things for profit is exactly what it sounds like. You buy items that people want and resell it for a profit.
For example, if I find a nice midcentury table at a yard sale, I’m going to try to get it for the lowest/fairest price, clean it up and repair anything if needed, then sell it for a profit.
You can resell items on sites like Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, OfferUp, Etsy, and many other sites.
#3 Rent out your RV
If you have an RV or van sitting unused for most of the year, consider renting it out. You can make a lot of money doing this.
Some people don’t have the money to buy an RV or don’t even want to buy one, but still want the experience of RV life for a weekend. That’s where you come in.
Outdoorsy is an online platform that connects people like you (with the RV) with travelers (who want to rent your RV).
Hosts on Outdoorsy earn an average of $185 per night, so you can see how this starts adding up to a lot of money.
To get started on Outdoorsy, create your listing, accept new bookings, hand off the keys to the renter, and get paid within 24 hours of receiving the returned rental.
#4 Sell printables
Selling printables on Etsy is one of best side hustles out there because of how easy it is to get started.
People are earning between $100-$1000+ a month selling printables online (see their success stories here). Making printables for Etsy is a fun and easy side gig for people who don’t have a lot of time on their hands but also want a flexible side hustle.

#5 Pet care
There are so many ways to get paid for taking care of pets including:
- pet sitting
- dog walking
- pet training
To get started working with animals, make a profile on Rover and start accepting jobs from pet owners. When you’re brand new to sites like Rover, reviews and references are of upmost importance.
This is why I recommend setting your rates low in the beginning in order to get more reviews. Once you have at least 5 reviews, you can start increasing your rates as you become more in demand.
#6 House Maintenance
Sites like Task Rabbit pay people for handyman work to do house maintenance tasks.
These tasks include jobs like:
- furniture assembly
- mounting art, shelves, or TV’s
- help moving
- home or apartment cleaning
- home repairs
Task Rabbit and other related sites are great for picking up side gigs quickly and making extra money.
#7 Real estate investing
Though you won’t start making money right away, real estate investing is a great option when thinking about the long haul.
To get started, it’s important to understand the basics of real estate investing including rental properties and flipping properties. Think about how much capital you can invest and create a realistic budget for your real estate investments.
Connect with real estate professionals and property managers. These people will help you with the process. You’ll need to decide on the kind of real estate investment strategy you want to use, such as buying and holing rental properties, flipping properties for profit, or investing in REITs.
Proofreaders work online and have the ability to work from anywhere in the world. The average hourly rate is between $14-$31 an hour depending on your experience, which clients you’re working for, and the type of project.
This job is done on your own schedule because you need to have the work done BY a certain time, not at a certain time.
Here is a free training that teaches you how to become a proofreader and learn:
- 5 signs proofreading is right for you

Before renting out the room, make sure the area is clean and ready for someone to move in. The person should have access to a bathroom and amenities like wifi.
If you don’t want a long term roommate, Airbnb is a great option for renting out rooms because you can get a feel if you like sharing your home or not.
