50+ Ways To Make Extra Money In 2019

This blog originally started out as a hobby, and eventually became a side hustle, and then a full-time job. You never know what your side hustle can become. 

So even if you only want to work an extra few hours a month or make this a full-time gig, you'll have many options to choose from.

1. Start a blog that makes money

2. Bookkeeper

A bookkeeper's job is to keep records of financial transactions of a business.

Transform your passion for words and reading by becoming a professional proofreader, and help people like me who are terrible at proofreading. 

I hire a proofreader for special projects which has been a must in my business. Proofreaders are a must for books, magazines, websites, and tons of other projects, so they're always in demand.

Customer service representatives are the go-between for customers and companies.

At FlexJobs, there are hundreds of new online, work from home jobs posted for customer service representatives.

These jobs are almost always entry-level, which means you don’t need any experience to get started.

Most customer service representative jobs usually start around $13 per hour.

19. Ibotta

Ibotta is a free app that gives you cash back for making purchases on things like groceries, clothes, toiletries, and much more.

It's silly not to use Ibotta if you're a grocery shopper and also have to buy things like clothes, toiletries, household items, etc. Pretty much any kind of item is available for cashback on Ibotta. 

Ibotta works at almost every grocery store, Best Buy, Etsy, Forever 21, Hotels.com, Sephora, Instacart, Kohls, Nike, PetCo, Amazon, Target, and hundreds of other stores.

20. Instacart

Instacart is a great side hustle for people looking into making extra money. I'm sure you've seen Shoppers picking up groceries at the store – they're usually in a bright green shirt with green Instacart bags in their hands.
What's great about Instacart is you don't even need a car. As an in-store shopper, you take shop orders only. If you want to make a little extra money, you can sign up to be a full-service shopper, whose job is to shop and deliver orders. 

21. Flea Market Flipper

You probably don't need me to tell you that flipping as a side hustle (or full-time job) is a legit job. There are several popular flipping television shows that show real people flipping items for cash. People find things and flip it for cash.

Aside from blogging, I've been a dog walker on Rover and have also used Rover to find people to take care of my furry family members.

There are many ways to find online foreign language jobs, such as italki, Craigslist, and many others.

Sponsored posts are how I make a large portion of money on this blog, roughly $3,000-$15,000 per month.

If you're a blogger and not running sponsored posts on your blog, you're missing out big time.

Brands and businesses are moving to influencer marketing instead of television commercials, meaning there is a lot of room for growth in this field for bloggers.

33. Translator

If you know your way around computers, becoming a computer repairman is a must.

People are constantly trying to find computer repairman due to computers breaking or people spilling water on their computer (I just did a few weeks ago, yay me!).

Selling items at a garage sale are one of the easiest ways to make money, especially if you have a lot of stuff.

I've had friends join up and host a garage sale altogether, and they would advertise it all around town, so even more people showed up.

43. Become a social media manager

Social media managers are in demand due to work moving to the internet.

Businesses are moving and becoming popular on the internet, due to wanting more reach.

There are so many benefits to being active on social media, which is why it's crucial to have a social media manager.

44. Sell your hair

You can make hundreds of dollars depending on your hair type and color.

45. Sell your scrap metal

We've done this a few times, and made a few extra bucks here and there. What you make depends on the weight of the metal.

46. Host an exchange student

Though families can no longer get paid for hosting an exchange student, you do get charitable tax deductions on your tax return.

You also get to invite in someone who speaks another language, is used to living in a different culture, and you get to show them your country or city.

49. Become a gym instructor

Gym instructors are constantly needed as people are starting to care more and more about their health.

There are gyms that are always hiring. If you want, you can start your own business and start providing workouts in the park.

Help students grow and excel in a subject by becoming an online tutor.

  3. Nice post Alexis. I have another to add to your list – Parking lot litter removal. Provide an on foot service using inexpensive hand tools before the businesses open in retail, office and industrial properties. Almost as easy to do as going for a walk! I started out part time in 1981 and turned it into a very lucrative full time business.
