Making or saving extra money is addictive, once you get the habit down. The hardest part about starting a budget or saving money is simply getting started and having a plan in place. Get started now and start reaping the rewards now!

Making side income at home has become easier than ever with all of the available resources with a computer and internet connection. So even if you only want to work an extra few hours a month or make this a full-time gig, you’ll have many options to choose from.
I’ve added a few of my personal favorite ways to make extra money, along with what I believe is the most enjoyable way to make money. We’ve all spent a lot of time working jobs that didn’t make us happy, so we shouldn’t be doing more of that.

1. Start a blog
I started full-time blogging in October 2016 and it’s been the most amazing experience I’ve ever had. I enjoy work, get to travel whenever I want to and create my own schedule. 4. Six-Figure Blogger – CreateandGo bloggers Alex and Lauren share in a detailed course how they went from 0 to $50,000 a month with selling digital products and services. I’m in the beginning stages of planning a digital product on my blog, and I wanted to make sure I was learning from the pros.
5. Pinterest Traffic Avalanche – I’ve taken several courses and have read many ebooks on gaining traffic on Pinterest, and this is still the only course I recommend. Pinterest Traffic Avalanche goes over things I’ve never even heard of or thought about. After using the tactics from the course, my reach went up to 2.3 million in 1 month.
6. How I Went From 17k to 350k Monthly Page Views in 9 Months – The last ebook I recommend is by Lena, one of my favorite bloggers. She explains how she went from 17k to 350,000 views in 9 months, which is no small feat.
2. Answer surveys
Answering surveys are one of the easiest ways to make money. You can also watch videos, online shop, and more to make some extra cash.
Ebates is awesome for anyone who regularly shops online. Even if you only online shop 1x a month, you’ll still get cash back on your online purchases. All you have to do is find the store you shop at online on Ebates and then start shopping.
4. Download Ibotta
Ibotta is a free app that lets you get cash back from purchases you make at the store. Read below to find out more. All of my friends use it and love it! Get $10 just for signing up here.
You can either get paid to house sit or get rent for free. Both options are great, especially if you plan on traveling abroad. You can live in a house and truly experience a city or country staying put and living like a resident. You don’t need any experience to be a house sitter.
Tutoring at home or at a library is one of the easiest ways to make extra cash. I’ve seen some people charge as much as $150/hourly on Craigslist. Science and math subjects are often needed the most.
Finding babysitting and date night jobs on Care.com or Sittercity is how I made my way through college. Date night jobs can range up to $100 a night depending on how many children there are. The kids are usually already asleep by the time you get there, so it’s definitely easy cash. Services can start around $12 an hour depending on your experience and skills.
I use Care.com to find all of my babysitting jobs. I’ve even found long-term nannying jobs on this website!
8. Get rewarded for using the internet
It’s really that simple. Nielson is a company that studies consumer insights (what people listen to, watch, etc.) and is in need of people to download their app. Though the pay isn’t a lot, you will get entered into a monthly sweepstakes and earn up to $50 a year just for using your phone. There is no fee, and no credit card information is necessary and will never be asked for. Sign up here.
9. Be a food runner with Favor
Favor is awesome for lazy days. It’s the quickest way to get groceries, restaurant food, dry cleaning, and many other things. Favor runners typically make $12-$20 an hour.
10. Pet sit or dog walk
I was a Rover dog walker for a few months and made an average of $15 every 30 minutes. If there was more than 1 dog, I made more cash. I developed awesome relationships with my pet parents and they would often give me gifts. You typically don’t need any experience to be a dog sitter, but it’s preferred.
11. Drive for Uber or Lyft
My brother drives for Uber and says it’s one of his favorite jobs. He gets to meet people from all over the world and had some pretty interesting stories to tell me. You can make really good money with this job, all in the comfort of your own car. Bonus: You get to set up your own hours, too!
12. Bring out your creative side and sell on Etsy
I love supporting small businesses, which is why I love Etsy. People from all around the world get to bring their creative side to life. The products from this site are incredibly unique and different from products you see at the store.
13. Become a maid
You can offer your services on Facebook, Craigslist, and more.
14. Become an egg donor
I’ve had a few friends that donated their eggs, and their experiences ranged from positive to negative. Each story is different, but regardless, the amount of money you get is insane and most would say it was worth it.
15. Teach a foreign language
If you know a foreign language, you can use italki to teach from the comfort of your home. If you want to learn a foreign language, italki is the place to go.
16. Rent a room or apartment out on Airbnb
People can make a decent amount of money through Airbnb. If you travel often and have a vacant house, I definitely recommend putting your apartment or house on Airbnb.
Always make sure to check with your apartments rules and guidelines regarding renting a room out. My apartment complex doesn’t allow people to rent out their house or rooms.
17. Start freelance writing
I’ve completed a few freelance writing gigs myself, and it’s been such an easy way to make an extra $100 here and there. What you charge really depends on how long the article has to be, as well as the due date, topic, and many other factors.
18. Enter contests and giveaways
Contests and giveaways have prizes such as money, vacations, electronics, gift cards, and more. It’s such an easy way to make some extra cash each month.
19. Sell items on Craigslist or Ebay
I’ve sold several items on Craigslist, such as a couch, TV, and other furniture.
20. Start recycling
Recycling is not only good for the environment but good for your pocket, too.
21. Become a virtual assistant
A virtual assistant is basically an assistant who helps a busy person with their business in the comfort of their own home. There are virtual assistants out there making a full-time income at home. Upwork is an awesome website for hiring or finding online gigs.
22. Sell your old clothes
Selling your old clothes is a great way to recycle instead of simply throwing away your clothes. Less waste + making cash back on your clothing is a plus. I go to Plato’s Closet to sell my clothes.
23. Check out Craigslist jobs
Craigslist has tons of job for anything you could think of. I’ve seen some pretty interesting jobs listed on the website, so check it out for yourself. You can make a decent amount of money from odd jobs on the website. I’ve also seen personal trainers, hair stylists, and tutors list their services on Craigslist.

24. Music lessons
If you know how to play an instrument well, I would highly recommend charging for music lessons. There are several ways to advertise your services, such as Craigslist, bulletin boards around your city, and Facebook.
Services can start around $50 for an hour.
25. Find out if your work as an employee referral program
You’d be quite surprised on what you can receive if you refer a new employee to your company.
My previous job awarded $100 for every person that the employee referred.
26. Take photos for cash
If you love taking photos, I would encourage you to start selling your photos online. Websites are in constant need of high-quality photos.
27. Become an editor
Become an editor for an online website and make a decent amount of cash each month. The income ranges, obviously, depending on how many jobs you accept.
28. Launch an online course
Creating an online course is an awesome way to make income, especially if you launch a course about a topic that people really need help with. This could be related to blogging, working online, health and nutrition, and many other topics.

29. Sell your plasma
Selling your plasma can make you around $50 per session depending on where you go.
30. Use your credit cards wisely
There are so many different ways to rack up credit card points which can reward you with cash back, flights, vacations, and more. It’s never been easier to receive points on credit cards.

31. Try affiliate marketing
If you have a blog or website, I highly recommend becoming an affiliate for companies such as Amazon, eBay, Target, and other websites that people often use.
My sister Michelle recently launched an online course that is doing extremely well. She’s been consistently making $50,000 a month on affiliate marketing.
32. Dumpster diving
Dumpster diving laws vary from state to state, so I recommend checking out the laws first. People often resell items that they found, which is a great way to make extra cash. I know people who have found food, electronics, hairstyling items, and tons more.
33. Host an exchange student
Hosting an exchange student can bring in at least $500 a month. You also get to invite in someone who speaks another language, is used to living in a different culture, and you get to show them your country or city.
34. Amazon Flex
All you do is ship things to people. You create your our schedule and get paid pretty well, too.
Make $18-$25 an hour.
35. Create YouTube videos
Top YouTubers are cashing out in the millions, such as PewdiePie. What you get paid depends on how many views you get. Depending on your niche, you can get a lot of free products from companies in hopes of you showcasing their product on your channel.
36. Mow lawns
Mowing lawns is a great way to make some cash in your neighborhood, as well as getting a good workout in. I’ve seen some kids charge $20, which is WAY too low in my opinion.
37. Become an admin for a Facebook group
There are quite a few Facebook groups out there that need admins to keep Facebook groups organized and on track. I’m in quite a few Facebook groups myself and there are strict guidelines in what you can post and what you cannot post. The admins are in charge of making sure the group is handled smoothly. You can make a decent amount of money as an admin, depending on the group size and niche.
38. Be an extra on a show or movie
You can make around $200 a day as an extra. What a cool way to make money and end up in a movie!
39. Help a person with disabilities by being their home care aid
I was a caregiver for 4 or so years and made about $12-$15 an hour. I took care of people with disabilities ranging from Down Syndrome to Cerebral Palsy. I learned a lot from my clients as well as learned a bit about myself. All that’s required is patience!
40. Sell your textbooks
I sell my textbooks back to my school. You can also sell your textbooks on many other websites, such as:
- Barnes and Noble
41. Participate in a medical research study
Pay ranges from a couple hundred dollars to a few thousand, depending on what the study is and how long you are there. There are sleeping studies out there that require people to simply stay in a bed and sleep for days on end. The pay is great, but who really wants to stay in bed non-stop for a week?
42. Sell items at a garage sale
Selling items at a garage sale are one of the easiest ways to make money, especially if you have a lot of stuff. I’ve had friends join up and host a garage sale altogether, and they would advertise it all around town so even more people showed up.
43. Become a social media manager
Social media managers are in demand due to work moving to the internet. Businesses are moving and becoming popular on the internet, due to wanting more reach. There are so many benefits to being active on social media, which is why it’s crucial to have a social media manager.
44. Sell your hair
You can make hundreds of dollars depending on your hair type and color.
45. Sell your scrap metal
We’ve done this a few times, and made a few extra bucks here and there. What you make really depends on the weight of the metal.
46. Become a translator
Translators are in high demand due to businesses working all around the world. The money is extremely good, too!
47. Become a mystery shopper
Make sure to sign up for legitimate mystery shopping websites.
48. Clean pools
Cleaning pools is a great way to make some extra cash during the summers. You can charge for partial or full and make a decent income in the business.
49. Become a gym instructor
Gym instructors are constantly needed as people are starting to care more and more about their health. There are gyms that are always hiring. If you want, you can start your own business and start providing workouts in the park.
50. Repair computers
If you know your way around computers, becoming a computer repairman is a must. People are constantly trying to find computer repairman due to computers breaking or people spilling water on their computer (I just did a few weeks ago, yay me!).

51. Teach English
Teaching English is in such high demand as people all around the world are trying to learn English for business purposes. You can teach online or abroad.
52. Makeup artist
You can charge for makeup services for prom, weddings, birthday parties, and more. My friends charge around $90 for makeup services.
As you can see, there are so many different ways to make money. There’s a side hustle for every internet or niche out there, so find a job you enjoy, and get started! Who knows, it could possibly open a door for you and start a new career path. 🙂
