As most of you may know, I am currently on the 21 Day Fix Extreme program. It’s completely changed my life.
Yes – a program changed my life.
I needed something that was truly going to challenge me. I gained over 20 pounds during the winter and I spiraled into a depression. I was alone, felt worthless, and on top of that felt guilty that I was running a fitness site.
How was I supposed to motivate/inspire others when I couldn’t even help myself?
I am a TOTAL different person now.
I feel like I can do absolutely anything and I have never been more confident in my life. This is NOT all about weight loss anymore for me. I haven’t checked my weight in almost a month and I don’t plan to ever check it again. The weight scale doesn’t defy me or the progress I’ve made.
I was never happy with the weight scale, so why check it anyway? It may help you, but for me personally, it was not helping at all. I know many people who rely on the numbers alone, but you need to focus on the other achievements you’re making.
What have I achieved in the past 3 weeks?
1. I am able to finish my workouts without stopping. I get freakin’ pumped to push myself to the very end and to see that I can finish without giving up… Wow. What an incredible feeling.
2. I now know I can go from feeling like the biggest piece of crap in the world to absolutely AMAZING. I no longer feel sorry for myself or make stupid excuses to not pursue my dreams. I am making every single day count and you should too! My confidence has skyrocketed!
3. Yeah, I gained 20 pounds and went backward. Did you? If so, stop feeling sorry for yourself. Make some damn changes right now. You need to do this for you and realize you are worth it. Stop complaining that you went backward, show yourself that you can do it all over again. Make the process even BETTER this time. Focus on the fact that you aren’t a quitter. You are a fighter. I gained 20 pounds and I’m stronger than I have ever been before mentally and physically.
4. I’m able to run for a long period of time and not take breaks. I was NEVER able to do that before even when I was the lightest in my life. I never had this strength with weightlifting that I do now. My upper body strength is out of this world.
I LOVE working out now. I push so hard. I eat very healthily and it’s because I WANT to. I am so confident with my body even if I have fat in certain places.
I highly recommend checking out the 14-Day Lean Clean meal plan if you are trying to lose weight or get healthier. The book is filled with tons of useful information (over 200 pages worth!). I am using this meal plan to hit my health and fitness goals.
