Ah, the college life. I feel like the days are going by so quickly. I'm always either at school or one of my two jobs. When I'm not doing those things, I'm busy studying, doing my readings, and living a healthy life.[no_toc]
I also keep up with my blogging every week and do my best to inspire and motivate others. After all, that is said and done, I like to cozy up on my bed and listen to Mumford and Sons with a good book.
I'm different from other college students in a few aspects. I rent a room off campus, pay for all of my bills myself, and have a ton of financial responsibility. Thankfully I have 2 jobs that I actually enjoy doing. Otherwise, this would all get pretty stressful and challenging.
So here I go. These are my side hustles and the little things I do to make some extra cash.
#1 I work as a Behavioral Specialist for special needs children.
I work one on one with children and assist them with everyday things. I teach them how to do different things and how to behave appropriately. Empathy plays a huge role in this job because I have to try to understand what these children are going through. Not only that, I have to try to understand what the parent is going through. Raising a kid with a disability can be extremely challenging and the fact that I get the chance to do something to potentially help this kid is amazing.
#2 I work as a caregiver in homes with adults that have special needs.
I assist with anything and everything. Cooking, cleaning, hygienic assistance, medication, you name it. I love this job. Going on my 5th year!
#3 I blog weekly and make a little side income here.
I love being able to talk to fellow bloggers from all around the world. It's like having a little family on the internet. I get tons of advice and support from complete strangers. I love it.
I wrote a post a little bit ago about babysitting 5 toddlers. What an experience that was. I love those little kids, though.

#5 I played online bingo in my free times.
Many sites give you the option to start playing free and allow you all kinds of bonuses so that you can make real money from it. Whenever I had some free time, I played.

#6 Selling my clothes that I don't wear anymore to Plato's Closet.
I need to start doing this more because I have a ton of clothes that I don't wear anymore. My closet is super tiny too so I end up stacking the clothes on the floor…
In the end, I wish I didn't have to work so much while being in school, but having jobs that I enjoy help tremendously. If I was working a lousy job, that would be a different story… I wish I had more time for school clubs/organizations and special events. I do the best I can time wise and I can at least say that I truly am enjoying college and all of the people I've met and continue to meet.
