I was given free prescription eyeglasses and sunglasses by GlassesShop.com to write this post, however, this post will be my 100% honest opinion.
Are you sick of paying hundreds of dollars for new glasses every year?
Join the club! At 24 years old, the last thing I want to spend money on is prescription glasses. Insurance doesn’t always cover all the fees, which adds up to an average bill of $300.
Even worse, I like to choose frames that cost over $200 because it’s so rare to find a style I like in stores. When I do find a frame I like, they’re made by a designer who charges over $200 each.
But what if, instead of buying eyeglasses at a typical eyeglass store, you bought them online?
I was a bit skeptical at first. I wasn’t sure if the frames would fit, if they’d actually be good quality, or if I’d even enter my prescription info in correctly (more on that later).
This was my first experience buying glasses online, and I can guarantee I’ll never buy at a regular store again.
GlassesShop.com sent me 2 pairs of prescription eyeglasses, and one pair of prescription sunglasses (my first pair, ever!). I’m going to show you how easy it is to grab a pair of glasses.
Step 1: You’ll want to choose a pair of frames. There are hundreds of frames to choose from depending on your style. Then, you’ll press “Select Lens”. (I’ve been wearing this pair daily).
Step 2: You’ll choose if you want single vision, multifocal, or fashion. I chose single vision since I needed it to be processed for distance.
Step 3: You’ll either upload your prescription or manually enter it here. Your eye doctor will and should provide all of this information to you at no cost, as long as you’ve got an eye exam from them in the past.
Step 4: You’ll choose what kind of lens you want. I grabbed the clear lens for my eyeglasses. The tiny question mark at the top right of each box will tell you what each special lens does.
Step 5: Choose from standard, advanced, or premium glasses. My total came out to only $70. Done!
I also got my first pair of prescription sunglasses ever. Contacts are my enemy, so I’m used to squinting outside at the sun since I wear regular eyeglasses all the time. I’ve worn them every time I’ve gone mountain biking (4x a week) and it makes me regret waiting so long to buy a pair.
If you’re ready to get a pair of your own, start browsing at glasses here.
P.S. I hope you all can appreciate my attempt at taking high-quality photos. I really need to invest in a good camera.
P.S.S. That is my son, Ba’cho to the very left. He does approve of the sunglasses, even though it might not look like it.
