Lately, I haven't been doing the greatest with tracking my money.
I haven't been working as much since it is summer and I have gone on a lot of trips already, so looking at my accounts can be a little sad since I don't have as many savings as I usually do!
However, I am working on improving my finances. There are a lot of little things that I am doing, and having Michelle as my older sister definitely helps! She is always hounding me to consider every purchase and follow a budget more strictly.
Having a cell phone can make managing your finances much easier. My computer isn't the most reliable, so I prefer to use my phone, such as the new Sony Xperia. My phone is always with me, whereas my laptop is not, so that's another reason why it is also much easier to handle my finances on my mobile phone.
Here comes the Mint financial app – I love it!
Have you ever heard of Mint? Mint is a really good financial app for your phone if you are trying to improve your finances. I can set up budgeting categories, and Mint lets me know when I'm about to go over, or sadly if I already have gone over my budgeted amount for that category.
I can break things out be categories such as food, clothing, etc., and it's really helpful! Seeing everything so blatantly in the Mint app is definitely an eye-opener. Having budgeting categories available right on my phone really helps me keep track of my budget.
The Mint app also tells me how much I have in my accounts by syncing my accounts to their app.
Some of you may be wary about this, but I will tell you that I have had nothing bad to say about this app. It is completely safe and everyone seems to have nothing but really good rave reviews about it.
