How many televisions do you have in your house? I'm probably going to guess more than one. And if you're like me, then I'm going to guess that you probably watch a little too much TV. There are a lot of alarming TV statistics out there. In the house that I have with my sister, we have 4 TVs that are constantly being used, plus a couple more that are just sitting in the storage area in the basement not being used at all.
A TV is something that is considered to be “needed” by most people. I am one of those people. I don't know what I'd do without a TV and being able to watch my shows instantly. What can I say, I love my favorite shows, such as The Walking Dead!
I recently just bought Netflix, so that I could save money by not having to rent movies from the local video store as often as we were. I do think that I am moderate and fair with the amount of time that I spend watching TV. I don't really have too many favorite shows that I feel that I must watch every week.
I would rather spend my time working out, making delicious meals, spending time with friends and family and so on.
How much time do you think you spend per week watching your favorite shows or movies? Americans spend 34 hours a week watching TV. Now, do you remember what you watched? Or did probably 90% of that time escape you and was wasted?
Do you own a TV? Have you ever thought about not owning one or cutting back?

I went years without a tv and I did most of my tv watching through my computer, online for free at Hulu. My husband and I finally caved last year and bought a flat screen tv and a PS3 so we could stream Netflix. We still don’t have cable and everything we watch is from our Netflix streaming account. I have dual monitors so I usually have a tv show playing on one screen as background noise while I’m using the other for blogging, emailing and whatnot.

I recently bought Netflix and it’s great! 🙂
I own two tvs but they are both hooked up with antennas. Only one has Netflix and amazon prime hooked up, so that is what I watch. I don’t watch much, so I don’t want to spend money on it.

Good way to save money. I only use Netflix in my room, no extra cable or anything like that.
I don’t think I’d ever get rid of my tv 🙂 My boyfriend & I do have multiple tv’s… 5 to be exact. I think if it were just me, I would just have one tv… but watching my shows is something I enjoy. In addition to workout out, eating well, & being creative, of course! Sometimes at the very least it’s nice to have the tv for background noise while doing something productive.
Sounds like you have everything balanced well =)
I was a lazy kid, who’s best friend was the television. I even remember being in University and not signing up for classes/activities on Wednesday nights because that was One Tree Hill night. So when I decided to cancel my cable over 2 years ago, my family members were shocked. Although I definitely watch less “junk” or “just because” TV, I still watch a whole lot of it… I just use my laptop and the good ol’ Internet instead. I’d sell my TV if I didn’t need it for my Wii Fit 🙂
