Last week I had my Part 1 of ways that you can make extra money. Today is Part 2! As I said last week, lately, I haven't been working a whole lot. It's definitely a big difference as to when I was accepting all the shifts I could take and be working well over 40 hours per week.
I've been making extra money in several little ways, and they are working for now. I am glad that I get to enjoy my summer though and get to do a lot of small travel getaways such as to Chicago and Ohio!
Who doesn't want to make extra money? I prefer to make money in multiple ways so that I'm not overly reliant in one area. This makes me feel much more comfortable when it comes to my finances.
Pet sitter/dog walker
I have done some pet sitting for my sister and have made a little bit of money. Nothing to get too excited about, but I'm sure you can be more profitable if you make it into a business. So many people need pet sitters or dog walkers for when they go out-of-town or have to work a long day, so it can be a very awesome job to get into.
You can pass out flyers, advertise your services online, and/or ask family or friends if they need any help. It's the summer so I'm sure there are plenty of people who needs pet-help services.
I have no experience with photography, but if you have the skills and a great eye, then why not? If you already work as a photographer, maybe you could even branch out and try new things, such as becoming a food photographer if you are currently a wedding photographer.
I have never worked at a retail job, but there are definitely a lot of retail jobs out there. You can work part-time or full-time, and there might even be a discount for the place that you work. A lot of places even offer insurance, which might be something that you are looking for also.
If I were to look for a side retail job, I would want something close to where I live so that the cost of gas isn't more than what I'm making. I'm not sure if retail is the job for me though.
If you are smart and have patience, then tutoring may be another thing that you can do for extra money. You can help someone learn another language, prepare for a test/class, or help them with homework.
I have also never worked at a restaurant, but it is something that has interested me. As a bartender, waiter or waitress, you can make a decent amount of money depending on where you live and work. The extra money could definitely be nice to have!
