I’m a 22-year-old college student drop out.
*Update, I’m back in school after my time abroad!*
I’m not ashamed to say I have no clue what I want to do for the rest of my life. I truly wish there wasn’t such an incredible amount of pressure to immediately enroll into college after high school.
How is an 18-year-old supposed to know how they want to spend the rest of their life when they were just previously only worrying about which movie to see on Saturday night?
“What colleges have you applied for?” “How many schools did you get into to?” “Why aren’t you in college yet?”
The social stigma of NOT being enrolled in school was 90% of the reason I enrolled in school in the first place.
My thoughts on college were like this: Everyone my age is in college right now, so I can’t be the odd ball out and come off as a “loser.”
I kept getting asked, “What college are you going to? What’s your major?” I gave in and decided to enroll in school even though I had no idea what I wanted to do.
The passion was NOT there whatsoever. 2 years later, I was still going to college with no f***ing clue and my mind was more scattered than ever.
