Today I’m sharing the best weight loss tools that cost under $30. All of these tools either help you eat healthier meals or help incorporate fitness easily into your life.
I’m currently on a journey to eating healthier and exercising more, and a lot of these tools in this list have helped make things so much easier.

Let’s get started!
1. High Carb Hannah’s Guides
One of my favorite YouTubers is High Carb Hannah. Hannah lost over 70 pounds on a plant-based diet and is known for her bestselling guides that teach people how to lose weight and keep it off for good.
One of her bestselling guides, the Lean & Clean Guide includes a 14-day plant-based meal plan, with 50 easy recipes that make healthy living affordable and convenient.
She has the Lean & Clean guide bundled with some of her most helpful guides, which includes:
- Lean & Clean – 14-Day Plant-Based Meal Plan
- Let’s Get Saucy – 55+ vegan sauce recipes that will blow your mind
- Epic Vegan Pressure Cooking – 30 simple oil-free vegan pressure cooker recipes
- Real Food Real Simple – 80+ plant-based recipes to satisfy your soul
- Cheat Sheet – 30+ free recipes and tons of information to find your ideal weight
2. Peloton Membership
The Peloton membership is the best way to workout at home. The app is only $12.99 a month and includes 10 different types of workouts (strength training, cycling, stretching, running, pilates, yoga, and even boxing, just to name a few).
If you already have a bike or treadmill at home, you can use the Peloton app on it. The app tracks your metrics, you workout alongside others, and you can even join in on challenges that keep you motivated.
I use my Peloton at least five times a week and use it for cycling, yoga, strength training, and stretching. I’m addicted!
P.S. If you’re buying a Peloton bike or tread, use my referral code FX6J5N to get $100 off accessories with a bike or tread purchase.
3. Weight Watchers
I never thought I would be someone who supports Weight Watchers, but I am. I’m currently on the program and find that it’s the easiest way for me to maintain a healthy lifestyle. It is the exact opposite of what I thought the program would be like.
I’m still eating my favorite foods, like vegan cheesy nachos and burgers, but less of it. Nothing is off limits for me and I feel zero deprivation, which is something I was concerned about with WW. I don’t have to count calories or go to any in-person workshops. The program simply guides me to eat more vegetables, fruits, and proteins like beans and tofu.
Weight Watchers is completely customized to you, rewards you with more points for drinking water, eating veggies, and moving more. If you’re vegan (like me) or vegetarian, you can use WW. There are tons of recipes in the app that make this program easy and simple. My success on the program has even lead my husband to start doing it with me, which has made it even more fun.
Since I’m an active Weight Watchers user, I have a referral link where you get 1 month free and so do I. Try out WW on a free trial here.
Back when I didn’t have a Peloton bike, Aaptiv was my go-to for working out. Aaptiv tells you exactly what to do when you’re working out, so if you have a treadmill or bike at home, you know exactly what to do to get the best workout.
The workouts include curated music to match the workout and I found myself working out way harder than I usually do. I really miss using Aaptiv, but since I have Peloton it would be a waste of money for me. Aaptiv costs $15 per month or $100 per year, and it is so worth it.
There are programs specifically tailored to your goals, whether you’re trying to lose weight, training for a race, flexibility, and more. Workouts include treadmill, strength training, outdoor running, yoga, elliptical, stair climber, and cycling.
Aaptiv even has a free trial for new users. Start your Aaptiv free trial here.
5. $5 Meal Plan
$5 Meal Plan is a lifesaver for people who are short on time and money. With $5 Meal Plan, you get a delicious meal plan and grocery shopping list every single week for just $5/month.
The menu includes five dinner entrees with sides, which includes a freezer-friendly meal, a slow cooker meal, and a 20 minute meal.
It also includes one lunch and one breakfast, and a random goodie each week which may be a dessert, snack, or beverage. There’s even a meal plan builder inside $5 Meal Plan, so you can switch around your meals and cater it to what you like.
6. Plant Based On A Budget Book
Plant Based On A Budget is a book that is another great option for people wanting to eat healthier for just $30 a week.
Every single recipe in this book can be prepared in less than 30 minutes and includes recipes like peanut butter bites, pancakes, ramen stir fry, sweet potato bowls, carnitas tacos, and so many more. The end of the book also includes a laid out meal plan to make things as easy as possible for you.
I personally have this recipe book at home and love it because of it’s simplicity. The ingredients are simple and most recipes are quick to make, making this book perfect!
7. Meal Prep Containers
Meal prep containers are where it’s at to make healthy living as simple as possible. These meal prep containers include 3 compartments which makes every meal ready to go and convenient. They are microwaveable, dishwasher-safe, and ensure you have the right tools to make meal planning possible.
When you don’t meal prep or have any healthy meals in the fridge, most people resort to fast food and oftentimes overeating because they’ve waited so long to eat, which is why these meal prep containers are so helpful.
8. Insanity Workout Program
When I first started my weight loss journey, Insanity was my go-to workout program. I loved the program because I could do it at home at any time.
The Insanity program includes a 60 day total body conditioning program, nutrition guide, 10 DVD’s, and a calendar to track your progress. If you’ve never completed a workout program with Shaun T, he’s the best! He’s so motivating and it feels like you’re working out right there with him in person.
If you’re completely new to fitness and have not exercised in awhile, I would stay away from Insanity because it’s pretty brutal for beginners. If you’re an avid exerciser already, then Insanity may be for you. I recommend talking to your doctor to see what’s best for you.
9. Start an active side hustle
Cleaning up litter – A great way to live a healthier life and make some extra cash on the side is by getting a job that is mostly physical activity. For example, you can clean up litter in parking lots like my friend Brian does. Brian cleans up litter in business parking lots, sidewalks, and landscapes of commercial properties. He even earns a six-figure income doing this and has been doing this for 40 years. CleanLots is a how-to guide that teaches you how to start a profitable clean up service. Brian is the creator of the CleanLots guide and has been in this business since the 70’s.
Dog walking on Rover – One of my all-time favorite side hustles was walking dogs on Rover. I earned roughly $20-$30 a walk and my jobs were always within 5 minutes of my house, making it a fun physical activity and a great way to earn some extra cash.
At home dog bakery business – A super exciting and fun way to make money is with a dog bakery business. Baking can be physically demanding and rewarding. The dog bakery business is booming in the U.S. and people love spending money on dog treats. If you have a passion for baking and dogs, look into starting your own dog bakery business.
10. Start a hobby
Hobbies are a great way to enjoy life and gain confidence, which is why I love them so much. My favorite hobbies are going to my weekly pottery class, cycling on my Peloton bike, and crocheting (which isn’t so much physically demanding, but I love it!).
There are so many hobbies that are physical activities like:
- Throwing pottery
- Rock climbing
- Ice skating
All of these hobbies increase your skills, flexibility, strength, and are great for the mind. If you don’t have a hobby, try out different things and see what you like. I had to try out many things until I found out what I most enjoyed.
Products over $30 that I recommend
A blender is such a useful tool to have in the house. It can make smoothies, soups, sauces, ice cream, and so many other recipes that are healthy and easy to make. Check out the Ninja Blender here.
I use protein powder daily in my breakfast smoothies and it keeps me full all morning into my mid-afternoon workout. I personally recommend a vegan protein because it’s easier on the stomach and digestive system.
Air fryer’s are amazing because they make everything taste better. Even better, you can opt out of using oil altogether with an air fryer.
A Fitbit is a great tool to monitor your daily physical activity and even your sleeping patterns. I love my Fitbit and use it daily!
