Hello, everyone! Today, I have a $900 giveaway and I'm also going to talk about my St. Thomas vacation. This giveaway is all about my most favorite recent vacation, and I've been on several road trips and vacations lately, so I wanted to put them all in one post.
In May, I went to St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands with my sister. It was a lot of fun. I've seen and done so many things and have witnessed a different type of beauty of the earth I've never seen before. I've done all kinds of new things I've never done before.
I stayed at SugarBay Resort on the island of St. Thomas. The people were so incredibly nice here, I didn't meet one mean person. The environment was so friendly and nice. I'm definitely going back one day.
We went kayaking and got a good arm workout in. Didn't even feel like a workout. We had some drinks, met some cool people, and relaxed. I had a good nap on a hammock overlooking the water as well.
The third day my sister and I went parasailing for the first time. I was pretty nervous before taking off. I've heard of people dying from parasailing. A lady died 2 years ago in basically the same spot we were parasailing from the rope snapping. As we were flying up into the air, you could see EVERYTHING. I seriously advise everyone to go parasailing once, even if you are afraid of heights. I was deadly afraid of seeing sharks from up high. Every time our parasailing instructor lowered us to the water, all I kept thinking of was sharks snatching us and eating us whole. I guess I would have died in paradise though, right?
I recently took a trip to Chicago, on a motorcycle. The ride from St. Louis to Chicago takes about 300 miles, a total of 5-6 hours. As we rode into the city, there were fireworks constantly going off by the highway. It was something I’ve never seen before.
Although Nathan has traveled a lot out of the country, he’s never been to Chicago. It was fun showing him the best sites in the city. Growing up in Chicago was awesome and I experienced so much. I got to visit my 90-year-old Korean grandma who can barely speak English. I also got to spend time with my mom, and when night-time came, Nathan and I traveled the city and took the bike across Lakeshore Drive. If you’ve ever been to Chicago and never been to Lakeshore Drive, you’re crazy. It is so beautiful, especially at night. We visited Millennium Park and also went to my favorite Chinese restaurant right outside the city, called Great Sea.
Nathan and I also went to Six Flags Chicago, and I got to ride all the roller coasters that I was too scared to ride back when I was little. I don’t plan on going to Six Flags again this year just because the lines are RIDICULOUS! We waited an hour for each line, and it didn’t seem that worth it after all. But overall I had a great time!
I recently also went on a trip to Ohio and it was pretty awesome. My boyfriend and I took the almost 400 mile trip on a motorcycle to the state of Ohio. We had to cut through Illinois, and Indiana just to get to the state of Ohio. At first, the trip was exciting because I never took a motorcycle on a long trip before. The scenery was nice, and being on a bike instead of a car really gives you a different perspective on your surroundings. We stopped in Indianapolis, Indiana. The city was extremely beautiful and had great architecture.
We went to Ohio to visit a friend that we haven’t seen in awhile. When we got there she had a delicious meal ready for us, and we kicked back and relaxed. The city we were in was quite small, right outside of Urbana. Ohio really reminded me of Missouri, because there really wasn’t much around besides fields and farms.
We didn’t do anything too crazy on the trip, but we did go to Yellow Springs Park and it was BEAUTIFUL! It reminded me of a movie, there was an abundance amount of trees everywhere and waterfalls that made it serene-like. We walked on a trail throughout the park and I did some rock climbing as well. I definitely plan on coming back to Yellow Springs the next time I go to Ohio.
