A year ago I decided to take a solo 2 month trip to South America. A part of me had doubt that I wouldn't go through with the trip, and I even thought of going home the day I arrived in South America.
Throughout the year I had people asking me why I would go to South America by myself, and why I decided to spend 2 months there where a language as spoken that I was unfamiliar with.
My answer was simply, “Why not?”
Before I move on, if you're a woman that has decided to travel by herself, anytime someone asks you why you are traveling somewhere by yourself, simply say “Why not?” That will sure shut them up!
They wouldn't ask a man why they are traveling solo, so they shouldn't be asking you either. I don't care if this a male dominated the world. Which leads me to my first tip of advice.
