Educating yourself is one of the smartest ways to get your health and weight loss journey underway.
Learning about healthy and unhealthy foods and the effects that they have on the body made the decision easy for me as far as what goes into my body.

2. Meal Prep Kit
Failing to plan is planning to fail. Meal prep containers allow you to store your prepped food ahead of time so you do not make bad food choices.
These 15 pack 3 compartment lunch boxes allow you to cook food for 3-5 days in advance depending on how many times you eat a day.
The meal prep containers are microwavable, dishwasher and freezer safe, as well as leak proof. They're also BPA free.
Tip: Do you shop online? If so, you’ll want to use Ebates from now on. Ebates is a website that gives you cash back for your purchases, giving up to 40% cash back. All you have to do is log on to Ebates, find out which store you want to shop at, and you’ll start getting cash back. You get $10 for signing up through my link here.
3. 21 Day Fix
21 Day Fix totally changed my life around. Though the program comes with food containers, I prefer using the workout program alone.
The workout program is perfect for strength training and cardio folk who want to get in better shape. In just 21 days, I made insane progress both physically and mentally.
4. Oil Spritzer
I don't personally use oil on any of the food I make since there is no nutritional content in it, but I know that most people still do.
An oil spritzer is an awesome tool that lets you still use oil (you can also put in other dressings) and it seems like you're using the same amount, but it's actually a lot less since it's being sprayed in a mist all over.
Tip: Want to save money when shopping? Ibotta is a free money-saving app that gives you cash back at almost any store. You get real cash – not points. Ibotta is my go-to app for saving money on groceries (even fruits and vegetables!), clothes, travel, and a lot more. You even get $10 in your account just for signing up through my link here.
If you have trouble getting enough steps in every day whether it be you work at home or work at a desk job, a Fitbit is one of the most motivating and exciting ways to stay active.
You can join challenges with your friends and family members and compete to see who'll get the most steps in every day.
Not only that, but you can log your food, water intake, tracks your sleep, and a lot more.
6. Loseit App
The LoseIt App is a free app that has the following features:
- set a goal
- track food and exercise
- it can connect to your fitness tracker (like your Fitbit)
- weight loss community
You can scan your food using the barcode scanner or you can easily search up the foods you're eating.
They even just added a new feature that lets you snap a picture of the food you're eating.
The LoseIt app is free and also has a premium option which has certain bonus features that the free option does not have.
7. Water Bottle
Most people are not getting their recommended water intake in daily.
A good rule to follow when it comes to finding out how much water to drink is figuring out your weight in pounds and dividing it by half, and drinking that in ounces.
130 pounds divided by 2 = 65 ounces.
Or, you can use this water bottle that has time markers that will remind you how much water you should be drinking at certain times.
Using a blender lets you whip up recipes and meals in no time at all and is the perfect piece of kitchen equipment to have if you're often in a rush and short on time.
9. Workout Apps
Workout apps make it easy to get exercise in anywhere at any time.
It's easy to make excuses when there isn't a gym around, which is why having at least one workout app on your phone is crucial to not letting excuses get in the way.
Below are a few of my favorite workout apps:
- Charity Miles
- Nike+ Training Club
- Fitstar Personal Trainer
