It puts me in the workout mood when I know that I’m wearing fun working out clothes. I know of some people who say that they would start working out if they had the money for cuter clothing items to wear when they work out. I don’t know what it is about it, but I do think that it helps.
My Athletic Clothing Budget
I never spend more than $20 on one piece of workout clothing, or at least I try not to. Spending more than this sometimes just seems ridiculous since I will just be sweating in them.
I do try and buy good quality shoes, as they can make or break you when you’re working out I feel like. Having bad shoes can hurt your feet and you might give up on your workout a little sooner.
Many stores like TJMAXX, ROSS, and Marshall’s have great workout clothes for low cost. I even check out the local thrift stores time to time. It’s usually hit or miss when I go to places like that though.
I can find plenty of workout tops but not anything else usually. It doesn’t hurt to stop by and look though. Sometimes they have brand new athletic clothes or gently worn that are still in great condition. Buying something at 70% of the normal price? Yes I want it!
Although I love Victoria Secret’s workout clothes, I can’t afford to spend $50 on a workout bra, especially when I of course need more than one (in my imaginary life where I won the lottery I totally would). But I don’t think it’s particularly necessary. Also,$75 sweatpants and $100 hoodies just seem a little excessive also. Maybe one day when I actually have money!
Since I workout or do something active at least everyday between Monday-Friday, I like to have cute workout outfits, since I’m spending the majority of my time in these clothes.
