If you would have told me 5 years ago that I was going to end up becoming a Personal Trainer and crazy health nut I would have laughed until I had no more energy to do so.
I always told myself I would go to school to become a Health Care Professional (or Registered Nurse). This was a dream of mine for awhile, until I actually volunteered/worked at health care facilities.
Before you jump into a career and put a bunch of your hard earned money into school, volunteer or talk to a professional who is doing the career you’re going to school for! If I would have never volunteered or worked in a health care setting, I would have eventfully dropped out of nursing school (or finished it being completely miserable knowing I don’t want to do this.)
Whatever pathway I chose, I knew I absolutely had to do something that helped others. I could not sit at a 9-5 job doing corporate work! If this is what you do and you enjoy it that’s awesome then! But that isn’t the case for me. After the nursing career idea ended, I eventually thought of becoming a Special Education Teacher. This idea dwindled down when I talked to a few people in this profession.
After 1.5 years I finally realized what I wanted to do with my life, and that was to help people with their overall condition of their life before they ever even got into a hospital setting. I want to prolong that chance for anyone. 80% of chronic diseases can be stopped or prolonged if a person ate healthy and exercised regularly.
Are you an aspiring Personal Trainer or anything that involves the healthy lifestyle?
Hi!
After 9 years of working full-time jobs, I have deicded to start taking classes to get my Personal Training Certification. I want to inspire people and also help others to start a healthy lifestyle and continue with it. Good luck with your journey!!
Thank you so much and good luck on your journey getting your personal fitness certification as well. The world needs more people like us =)
I just started teaching Spinning classes at my college, and I’m taking a class there now to become a personal trainer! Funny how people suddenly start wanting to go to the gym with me
Free advice, anyone?
Wow thats awesome. I have a question, if I wanted to become certified to teach a group workout class how would I go about that?
My healthy journey is more one towards balance. In high school and college I ran cross country, so now I’m working on finding a balance with exercise that includes healthy eating, being a good mom and a good wife! I can’t wait to read more about your personal fitness training!
