1. You Are a Badass by Jen Sincero
Okay, I’ll admit I’m only on page 36 of this book, but it’s been more life changing than all of my other top books so far. The mentality I’ve created with this book surpassed by expectations when I was originally recommended this book by a friend.
This book isn’t like most self-help/personal development books. You are constantly on an adventure throughout and realizing so many things about yourself. The amount of power that is within all of us is quite spectacular, yet many of us don’t use it. If you’ve never read a self-help book, this should definitely be your first.
2. The Art of Happiness by Howard Culter and the Dalai Lama
My significant other gave me this book as a gift when I was going through a hard time when I returned from Peru. Immediately after just a few pages, I felt rejuvenated and alive again. Although the Dalai Lama suffered the loss of his country, he still remains one of the happiest people alive.
This Dalai Lama taught me that “the very motion of our life is towards happiness” and how happiness should be our main focus and priority in life. You will learn how to beat anxiety, jealousy, bad moods, and how to ride through the difficult obstacles that life throws at us. Not only does this book speak on behalf of the Buddhism traditions and meditations, the Dalai Lama also speaks in depth on science to prove how certain methods work.
3. Embrace by Taryn Brumfitt
This woman might look quite familiar to you. She had a controversial, yet inspiring photo all across social media back in 2013. It was a before and after photo, revealing the before photo of her being in a bikini competition. Taryn’s after photo was after she popped out a few babies.
This woman talks thoroughly about her hate-love relationship with her body and how she has learned to embrace and love her body, at every single stage it is. I believe we can all benefit from this book, especially if you have problems with confidence and dealing with physical appearance.
4. The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey
This book has been top rated for over 25 years and has remained a best seller because of its simplicity towards proven principles of life.
This edition is an updated version, which means you will get an even better idea of how to solve your problems in your personal and professional life.
5. The Secret by Rhonda Bryne
The secret has been translated into 46 languages for a reason. This book has a basis of positive thinking (such as The Art of Happiness) and can change your entire life based on your way of thinking.
The book talks in depth about how positive thinking can create stronger happiness, wealth and health benefits.
6. How To Stop Worrying and Start Living by Dale Carnegie
This book has sold over 6 million copies and has enabled people to simply stop worrying.
Dale Carnegie offers methods that will help you overcome this habit and how to eliminate worries that are taking control of your life. Dale also goes into many other aspects of life, such as financial worries, how to find yourself, and more.
7. The Magic of Thinking Big by David J. Schwartz
If a goal of yours is to feel financially secure with an ideal job and a happy life, then this is the book for you.
This book will show you methods to earn more money while achieving greater happiness and peace in life.
